Cost of MBA’s (or any piece of paper)
Source: WSJ
The real question one should ask is “what future cash flows will this piece of paper give me?“
Are the banks – or my ; future employer mandating this piece of paper? If yes then consider doing it. Otherwise you have to question the value i.e. what is the NPV of my future job and does it stack up to the educational-expense I’m willing to spend now. What is my accept/reject rule. In MBA terms, I hope this post helps you avoid sunk cost.
And yet another good technique here is to look at people who are in your ideal job and have a look at their qualifications. I have another post on how to get ready here.
Don’t get me wrong here – education is priceless. But do look at the big picture (your options, personal circumstance, the market etc) and be realistic before you commit.
